THE MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE WE CAN OFFER!
When should you pay for a container? Unless you’re doing a modification or ordering specialty equipment, you shouldn’t pay anything until your container is delivered. With Dallas Discount Container, you hand a check to our driver or pay via credit card (3.75% fee) on the container’s arrival. This will help you avoid scams and folks who misrepresent what they sell. It’s unfortunate, but both exist, so protect yourself.
SIZES
Containers come in a variety of sizes, colors and conditions with most being 20 ft or 40 ft in length and 8 ft in width. There are 8 ft 6 in height known as Standard and 9 ft 6 in height known as High Cube (HC). It’s important to know that you lose about 10 in from these dimensions with door opening and a bit less than that on the interior because of rails and corrugations. Traditional containers come with cargo swinging doors on one end. Some of the 1-trip (see below) containers now come with doors on both ends or doors on the side.
CONDITIONS
1-trip: These containers are what some refer to as new. It’s important to note that 1-trip containers are built overseas and paired with cargo to get them to a destination such as Texas. 1-trip containers are a great option for someone looking for the nicest container cosmetically inside and out as well as ease of opening doors. There can be a minor scuff or ding as they have been shipped with and handled one time, but we inspect these to make sure there are not significant structural or cosmetic issues. Most 1-trip containers come in a solid color of light tan or grey. Occasionally, we have these in Camo and other colors.
Used: You may hear lots of terms such as WWT (wind and water tight), CW (cargo worthy) and several others.
Dallas Discount Container keeps it simple with our
3-point guarantee for Good/Used Containers.
1 – Doors operate
2 – Floors are solid
3 – Your container won’t leak
Used containers come in a variety of colors, most have shipping line logos on them, all have surface rust, dings, dents, wear and tear, etc. These still have a lot of life remaining as a storage container. Containers are coming in and headed out of Dallas Discount Container quickly, so we’re more concerned with getting you a good/used container than with color, but if you need something specific, contact us.

How much space do I need for a container? Solid ground is a must regardless of container size. Most 10 ft and 20 ft containers are delivered on wrecking style trucks (30 ft total length). We need approximately 60 ft of straight space and 12 ft width for delivery of 10 ft and 20 ft containers. 40 ft containers are delivered with a truck/trailer combo that is about 70 ft in length. We need some space to turn from road onto the property and ultimately where you want the container set down, we need approximately 115 ft of straight space and 12 ft of width.
